Sucheng Shen (Sam) and Tianyi Zhang (Jack) came to study with us from the same town in China and were part of GSSP’s very first cohort.
After being recruited and supported by our Global Student Success Program, both students completed their associate degree at RBC. Since graduating they’ve received offers from high ranking universities in Virginia and other states to continue their studies and finish their final two years to earn their bachelor’s.
A special International Student Graduation Ceremony took place at the campus on May 3 to honor our two graduates who represent the first RBC GSSP cohort.
RBC president, Dr. Debbie Sydow awarded the two graduates their diplomas while Dr. Maria Dezenberg, Provost, hosted the ceremony. Many international students, learner mentors, RBC faculty and staff, and our own GSSP staff were in attendance.
At the end of the graduation ceremony, a special video message from Dr. Brian Stevenson, CEO of Navitas North America, was shown on the big screen. He congratulated the two hard working students for their accomplishments and expressed appreciation to Dr. Sydow and Dr. Dezenberg for their support to the partnership.
The two students were very touched to receive this personal message from Dr. Stevenson.
